This suite of three images was published by and produced at Dieu Donne Papermill, in an edition of fifteen with twelve proofs, in cooperation with David Krut Fine Art.

The paper for the suite is 19 x 34 inch pigmented cotton linter and linen rag, reminiscent of 19th century drawing paper. Two of the images incorporate wire watermarks and all three were pulp-painted by the artist. The paper was pulled by Megan Moorhouse and Mina Takhashi. After the sheets were couched (transferred) off of the mould, Kentridge used the same pulp stock mixed with formation aid in squeeze-bottles to draw images and text onto the surface of the newly-formed sheets. Many of the suites in the edition include the text "Thinkiing in Water." other passages that frequently appear include "Simultaneous Translation," "Night Vision," and Maximum of Worry."

For the wire watermarks (one of two dancing figures and the other of a typewriter) Kentridge made "drawings" in16- and 18guage round copper wire stock. Jeweler and artist Michael FitzGerald fine-silver-soldered te connecting points of the wires to form a cohesive watermark. These watermarks were then sewn onto the surface of two laid moulds with monofilament.

The suite was signed by the artist in 2002 on the lower right recto of each image and is housed in a document preservation binder/portfolio produced by Talas, Inc. A light box display unit for the suite has been custom designed and fabricated by workspace 11.
