Chapter 2. Artists' Books as Collaboration

Many fine press and artists' books are a result of collaboration between artist(s), printer, type-setter, binder etc. In the case of Malcolm Payne's Face Value: Old Heads in Modern Masks (Cat: 197), a work which also has a didactic function, the scholarly essays act as a foil for the fine intaglio images which come after them.

34 artists and printers collaborated in the making of A Printer's Exquisite Corpse (Cat: 140).
