On the inside front jacket of the fourth edition:

The illustrations by Walter Battiss, on whose account I bought this book, seem to me to be very good, although I am no judge. Pp3 & 36: the figures seem not to be drawn from models.

p29: the windmill: Good.

p46: the smile on the "face" of the crocodile is very well done. Animals seem to be better drawn than humans. 3/XII. [signed with the initial 'W'.]
