Once fully unravelled, the paper folds in and on top of itself, taking on a sculptural form that resembles a reel of film unrolled from its reel. Once wound back into its scroll form, it is fastened closed with a red rubber band from a rolled-up weekend newspaper. [The artist must have changed her mind as the fastener is a silver string and not a red rubber band.]
