Additional notes:
Removable hand-cut butterflies from maps of tht British Isles, names calligraphed in sepia ink. Placed in Stanley Gibbons pocket stout book, rebound by the artist in bookcloth with striped ribbon ties. End papers by Enid Marx. Stamp-album format. The book explores the preoccupations of collecting and classification. Each species has an allustion to its often poetic name in the materials from which it is made - for example the High Brown Fritillary is cut from the dun contours of the Cheviots.
