The terracotta ceramic box is composed of a base with three knobs (two in the front and one at the back) and a decorated lid with three knobs (two at the rear and one at the front). The knobs on the base have leather thongs attached which attach to the knobs on the lid to keep it secure. The interleaved prints fit snugly into the base.

In my opinion, the presentation in this elaborate portfolio form defines the work as a book.
