Additional notes:
"A kind of extended artist's book that's written. Printed, and painted across a variety of media, including a traditionally printed fine book, an accordion fold print, and a series of Chinese-style painted scrolls, all of which are carefully nested into a custom carrying case/display box" (Charles Donelan).

A handcrafted red cedar box with tilting lids and debossed design on the left cover, containing three forms of the book: accordion, codex, and scroll.:

1. on the top level in a divided bronze-patina metal tray:

Letterpress book 280mm.

A separate colophon pamphlet in handmade brown paper wrappers.

"Apsara" containing a unique gold stamped and hand-painted paper chemise containing two 6 x 7" accordion books (one with text and one with illustrations), signed and editioned 10/20, 176mm. One accordion book contains line drawings of Apsaras and the other has an interpretation of the myth, The Churning of the Sea of Milk. Both are printed letterpress from photopolymer plates. Each 8-panel accordion opens to 7 x 48".

2. on the bottom level:

Four silk and watermarked paper scrolls, each with an image of one of the angkor faces, lie in wooden niches upon red silk, on wooden dowels, made for hanging with an elaborate cord topped with three beads. Each scroll is 37 x 18" when unrolled to view or hang.

With card prospectuses laid in.
