The typeface used is Avenir, a digital face designed by Adrian Frutiger, which was printed letterpress from polymer plates. The diagram images were printed printed letterpress from polymer plates and hand colored; the city plan image is a woodcut. The paprs used for book pages are Crane's Lettra and Yupo; the end papers are Zanders' Elephant Hide.
