TipsBasic searchFor a basic search across the whole bibliography, enter a search term and then click the search button (right). You can enter terms such as an author's name, part of a book title, etc. To do this type of search at any stage, use the Basic option. Note: the searches use the exact terms you enter. For example: if you enter 'David Paton' you will not get any results as it is stored in the database as 'David Murray Paton'. If you do not get a result try widening the search by entering just the first name ('David') or surname ('Paton'). Results page: after you have completed any search, the results are displayed on a Results page. You can click through to full details relating to the author and book. Diacritical marks: the searches are sensitive to exact characters and if your search includes diacritical marks (such as: ä é ç õ ê, etc.) you will need to include them in your search terms. Guided searchesTo look-up via author's last name, item title, chapter title, publisher, etc.
Advanced searchThis search functions in a similar way to the Basic Search (see above) but only searches in a specific field you select from the lists. Useful to limit your results and receive more specific results. |
