The book contains 23 prints, two original watercolours and hand-made paper, some with flower specimens woven in by the artist. The original coverboards by Allix, are in dark green and purple morocco, and silk and suede violet onlays in the form of an iris, with flower specimen endpapers. The book is designed around fragments and extracts about flowers from writers and poets throughout the centuries including Sappho, John Evelyn, Dumas, and Pirandello. Watercolour frontispiece. Clam-shell box.
