Medium: Wood; Paper Size: 870mm Technique: Charcoal drawing Edition: Unique
Place publication: (Pretoria) Publisher: The artist
Reference note: On the sheets of paper are charcoal drag marks made with a charred piece of tree trunk as well as a drawing of a tree root and a chair. The drag marks change on each page and eventually disappear on the last page. The drag marks indicate the 'aftermath' of the processed tree visible on the paper, but the tree root and chair are also metaphors for 'people being swept away'.
