`Tinboektoe toe toep/app`, a remediation of a concrete artist`s book, is a collaborative project by Franci Greyling (writer/artist) and Wildrich Fourie (programmer); also involving graphic designers Christiaan van der Westhuizen and Louis Fourie. More recent developments of the haptic screen and computer tablets and the associated development of applications (apps) and distribution channels offer new possibilities for the remediation and distribution of artists` books. The underlying question of the practice-based research project is: How can `Tinboektoe toe` be mediated from an artist`s book into an application, whilst maintaining the integrity of the original work?
