Additional notes: Colophon: "The works on this book are produced by young learner artists from Senoane Secondary School in Soweto. The Project was facilitated by Bongile Funani Mkhize, a very experienced printmaker, facilitator and professional artist from Siyavaya Arts Explosions. The project involved learners at the school being trained in printmaking techniques and producing a series of prints that reflected their experienced (sic) of HIV/AIDS as young people living in a society that is both under threat from this epidemic, and permeated with often conflicting information about the disease. The project led to the production of a series of prints and a book of extra ordinarily high artistic quality produced by grade 8-11 learners at the school. The book is sewn with colourful threads symbolizing that we are all joined together by the disease. Number of prints 16"
The prints are sewn onto a the tabs of an accordion fold. The artists are listed at the end under "Young Learner Artists" and indexed here. Bound in red patterned cloth with red aids ribbons on the cover. The whole contained in a wrap-round cardboard chemise covered with the same cloth held closed with a red bead and string.
