There are 14 Middletowns in the USA. This book is a portrait of one of them. I took the Polaroids in 1998; the rest of it came four yers later. Signed by the artist. In a blue sleeve, printed letterpress in two colors on handmade blue Khadi paper. Slipped out of the sleeve, the book opens in many different directions, so that unfolded to 18 x 36 inches on a flat surface it takes the shape of a town's geography with its blocks and dead-ends.
