Additional notes: "Images taken from a karaoke screen illustrate this poem by Sabine Hassinger. The thin, transparent paper and the Jacob’s-ladder structure allow a variety of text-image combinations."
Reference note: First edition of the German text and its Norwegian translation. 8-page concertina. Inkjet print on kozo paper. The text is printed on a 32gr concertina folded paper. The images are printed on thin 19gr paper stripes that are twisted into the cut concertina. The booklet is enclosed between two sheets of flexible polythene foil 7 x 29cm that is fixed by a silver plastic stripe. Edition of 30 Arabic numbered copies and 5 Roman numbered copies. This copy is of series marked C.A.
The text of Sabine Hassinger seems to be a loose composure of words and fragments, brought together by a numerical order. Each word is placed on a determined part of an A3 sheet of paper. On one side, you fond the German original and on the other side the Norwegian translation. I cut the paper after printing it and interlaced stripes of printed kozo paper that contain a third and fourth layer of language bits referring to my life in Japan. When the reader turns the stripes one by one, the text as a whole becomes readable. If the booklet is completely opened into the original A3 size, only parts are visible but you can combine them continuously.
