Colophon on a round disk of paper fixed to the top: This edition of The Philosophy of Umbrellas is dedicated to Judith A. Hoffberg, whose passion for artists' books led her to become the Founder and Editor of UMBRELLA, a resource for news and documentation of contemporary books art since 1978. Judith is co-founder of The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).

The concept and digital design in Palatino Linotype are by Richard Minsky , von Hess Visiting Artist at the Borowsky Center, The University of the Arts, Philadelphia. Text was suggested by Judith Hoffberg. Printed on DuPont Tyvek® by offset lithography on a Heidelberg KORS press in April, 2008. Lori Spencer is the Center's Master Printer. An edition of 100 copies and 3 AP was printed, with 50 copies umbrellified by the University, numbered 1-50, and 50 by the artist. Of the copies issued by Minsky, 43 are numbered I-XLIII and 7 Deluxe copies are numbered A-C. This copy No. XI.
