Additional notes:
Battiss has illustrated a found book "The Soul of a People" by H. Fielding Hall and published by Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1903. It is inscribed to "Mary Anderson from BCRL 1915".

Using watercolour, Battiss has created the text using the negative white of the printed pages.

He has pasted an irregular card with the title onto the cover of the book .
