Battiss has used nine pages of this Diary to note favourite colour mixes.

1. Violet + Winsor = Nice yellow.

Grey green = allisiran (sic=alizarin) + crome yellow

2. Black + crome yellow = grey green.

3 & 4. 16.1.82 Raw umber = cold grey.

5 & 6. One must respect a colour for what it is.

7 & 8. 18.1.82 A big surprise.

9. Light grey = Ivory + raw umber.

Dark grey = Winsor blue + Indian red.
