Basilisk catalogue: 'An alphabet cut in wood by Jonathan Heale who describes himself as a farmer when at the Royal College of Art a few years ago had a reputation for his progressive progressiveness. It is hard to believe that these 26 woodcuts of farmyard scenes (A - Apiary with wooden huts for the hives, B - Bacon with a sturdy sow, C - Comb with a close up of a rooster's head) were not cut in the 1890's. He has caught the period perfectly and illustrations are charming. Title sheet red and black, illustation sheets all black, each initialed and numbered. Loose in sturdy portfolio covered in green cloth with scarlet lining and matching silk ties. 75 suites."
