An eight-piece series produced in conjunction with the Walker Art Center exhibition American Tableaux. Each month's chapter includes an original work of fiction by a well-known author, notes on the month's film a response to an artwork in the exhibition by a Walker curator, and suggested readings. The themes are Lament, Muscle, Fortune, Burn, Beauty, Outskirts, Strip and Notorious. All eight booklets are collected in a clear plastic arch-lever file with the title on the spine. Number 6 in the series deals with Ed Ruscha's "Every Building on the Sunset Strip"
