Additional notes:
In order to create "Tree of Codes", the book-artist, Jonathan Safran Foer, used an English language edition of Bruno Schulz's "The Street of Crocodiles" and cut into its pages, carving out a new story as described in the Author's Afterword.

The mock-up for this paperback trade edition would be classified as an altered book (which may exist as a unique copy in Foer's private library) and this is therefore the only editioned, altered book to my knowledge (cataloguer - jmg).

Robbin Ami Silverberg has mischievously then used a copy of this trade edition to make a unique artists book by further cutting into the text and which is in this collection (see GB/15644).
